FAQ

Common questions

What happens during a mold test?

We start by talking with you about what you’ve noticed. Then we inspect the property, take moisture readings, and collect air and/or surface samples where they’re useful. The samples go to a laboratory, and we put the findings into a written report.

How do I know if I need testing?

Common reasons include a musty odor, a past leak or flood, visible spots, or a purchase or move-in. If you’re unsure, describe what you’re seeing in the form and we’ll help you decide whether testing makes sense.

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on the size of the property and the type and number of samples. Send the quote form and we’ll reply with a price.

How long until I get results?

The visit length depends on the size of the property. Laboratory results take additional time, and we’ll give you an estimate when we schedule your appointment.

I rent my home. Can I still request testing?

Yes, you can request a quote. It’s a good idea to check your lease and let your landlord or property manager know, since they may be responsible for repairs. Our written report is easy to share with them.

Does mold testing tell me if it’s affecting my health?

No. Testing describes what is in the air or on surfaces at the time of sampling. It can’t diagnose health effects. If you or family members have symptoms, please talk with a doctor.

Can you remove the mold?

Citrus Air Testing focuses on testing and assessment. We don’t do removal, so our findings are never tied to selling you a cleanup.

Why is mold so common in Florida?

Warm, humid weather and frequent rain make it easier for moisture to build up indoors, especially after leaks, air-conditioning problems, or storms.

What areas do you serve?
